Allied Insurance, Des Moines, IA
This 1.1 million square foot complex, which includes two buildings over two city blocks, began as a 500,000-square-foot building and has the distinction of being the first significant new office development in downtown Des Moines. Developed as four projects, the Allied Insurance building was part of the city's "Western Gateway" initiative. The total development includes the expanded headquarters building with a 3,000-space parking garage, and the nearby Nationwide Insurance Operations Center with a 1,600-space parking structure.
