Nationwide Realty Investors plans to bring the first residents to a busy area of downtown Columbus by converting an 18-story office to the Centennial on High.

The commercial real estate development affiliate of the insurance and financial services giant released new renderings for the renovation of 280 N. High St., renamed in honor of Nationwide’s 100th anniversary, which also preserves and upgrades 75,000 square feet of offices.

The Columbus Downtown Commission unanimously approved the exterior modification and landscaping plans on Tuesday.

“Columbus continues to see strong demand for high quality downtown residential in the best locations and this project allows us to respond in a meaningful way,” NRI President Brian Ellis said in a press release. “We’re putting an iconic downtown asset to its highest and best use.”
