Following unanimous approval from the Downtown Commission, Nationwide is moving forward with plans to convert one of its three downtown office towers into apartments, carrying with it a new moniker for the building.
Nationwide Realty Investors, the commercial real estate arm of the insurance and financial services giant, filed plans with the city of Columbus in January to renovate its 18-story office building at 280 N. High St. to include apartments and amenity spaces like balconies, a lower courtyard and a pool. Previously referred to as Two Nationwide Plaza, the redesigned building will be renamed The Centennial on High in celebration of Nationwide’s 100-year anniversary.
“Reaching a centennial is an achievement attained by fewer than one-half of one percent of companies,” a company press release stated, “and the new name reflects Nationwide’s gratitude to Columbus – along with its partners and community members – for their support over the last century.”
