Grandview Yard should have its first residential component under construction by late next month.

Grandview Heights’ planning commission on Tuesday approved developer Nationwide Realty Investors Ltd.’s plan for a 154-unit apartment complex at the 90-acre development off Goodale Boulevard. The panel also granted the project a certificate
of appropriateness.

“It’s a done deal,” said Patrik Bowman, the city’s director of administration. “They can now apply for zoning clearance and a building permit.”

Nationwide Realty applied for the site review in early July, but the project did not get heard at the commission’s July 20 meeting as originally planned after one member could not make the meeting.

The apartments will be split among three buildings immediately north of Grandview Yard’s first commercial phase that opened in September 2010. Nationwide Realty spokeswoman Tina Guegold said construction should get started within 30 days. The first apartments are expected to be ready next fall.
